Mission and Vision of SLR

While the overall mission and vision of SLR has been largely unchanged over the years, the board periodically undertakes a review to ensure they remain current with changing needs. Should changes be deemed appropriate they are presented to the greater SLR membership for approval at the Annual General Meeting.

 

Concurrent with these reviews, every two or three years, the board establishes strategies and objectives needed to ensure the long-term security of SLR as a member-focused society. Among others, strategies explore new courses, programs and member socials, as well as special events and speakers. The board also examines fundraising and grant opportunities, advertising and promotion, and strategies to recruit new members. And of course, much attention is paid to ensuring SLR’s long term financial viability.
