PETER BRIAN COOK 1929-2009 It was with considerable sadness that long time members
       of OILR/SLR learned of the death of Peter Cook, from cancer on Sept. 18th 2009, at the age
       of 80. As a founding member of OILR and the Merrie Pipers he was a backbone of the
       organization and will be sorely missed. At the memorial service, organized by his friends of
       the recorder group we learned much more about his very interesting life. An edited version of
       this can be found under the History section, with the full story to be found in our archives,
        located in the office.

The Canadian Association of 45-Plus (CARP) has offered SLR members a 35% group
       discount for membership, which includes membership in the Okanagan Valley chapter
      and Zoomer magazine. CARP provides effective advocacy nationally, provincially and
      locally for those over 45. Check out the benefits and apply for membership during SLR
      registration week.
